Do you identify as LGB or T? Do you help to support/care for someone due to their illness or disability? E.g. Cooking, cleaning, dressing them. If so, another LGBT carer is keen to make contact with you. She is part of a project which seeks to influence local services for carers and their familes. She would like to hear your needs and opinions in relation to local services you use.
There’s a range of help and support available for carers in the city and county through Derbyshire Carers Association. Derbyshire Carers Association is based on Babington Lane in Derby City and they have other bases across the county. A small personal budget for carers who live in Derby City is available from Derby City Council if you do a lot of unpaid caring and it is affecting your life.
Get in touch on 01773 743355 and talk to us about how Derbyshire Carers Association might be able to help.
If enough Derby LGBT carers get in touch with us, they will be able to set up a group which will meet on line and/or at Derbyshire Friend to provide mutual support and help
For more information about the LGBT project, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or leave a message with your telephone number on 01773 743355. If you email or leave a message make sure you mention that it’s “Vita” you’d like to talk to
