LGBT+ Mental Health Group
Your next LGBT+ Mental Health Group will be happening a week today! Friday 22nd March at 1.30-3.30pm at our Derby Centre on Curzon Street This session the focus will be on general wellbeing and coping techniques to help you day to day with your mental wellbeing For anyone over 18 to come and talk mental health in an LGBT+ safe space! Family Group : Green Earth
Our groups are an informal and safe space for LGBT+ family of any shape, size and make up. At each family session, we simply connect over coffee, cake and conversation. There are also optional activities for you to get involved in related to the theme of the month. This month, the theme is Green Earth! You can expect foraged nature based crafts, stories of LGBT+ in nature as well as seed planting.
LGBT+ Gardening Drop-in
Green thumbs or not, we'd love your support with making our Chesterfield Community Centre front garden a bit brighter and colourful this May. No experience is necessary at all to join the gardening sessions - you can use this time to learn something new, meet new faces, be outdoors, or just relax and keep us company. Wear suitable clothing and shoes, and we'll keep you supplied with cuppas. If you do have experience in gardening, bring along any gloves and tools.
Queerly Crafty
Queerly Crafty was one of our most popular groups and we are keen to have it up and running again!
So throughout the month of May, we will be hosting taster/introductory sessions for these groups in hopes that we can bring them back.
All groups are for those aged 18 and over and no registration is necessary so feel free to just turn up!

SHABLAM! on Sundays
Rupaul’s Drag Race UK finalist and fan favourite, Michael Marouli, has been announced as the headline act for a brand-new matinee entertainment extravaganza for the East Midlands, Shablam! On Sundays, brought to you by Saul Morgan and Laura Wood, two of the team behind Groovebox Nottingham Pride Festival, and to be held at Nottingham’s iconic outdoor arena, Binks Yard.
Shablam! on Sundays will bring together International superstars of Rupaul’s Drag Race with the biggest and best regional drag stars to make your Sunday afternoons sickening with the first event taking place on Sunday 12th May at Nottingham’s stunning outdoor and all-accessible Binks Yard.
It is hoped that Shablam! on Sundays will become a regular fixture in the calendar as part of a suite of events created specifically for the East Midlands Queer community including the upcoming Groovebox Nottingham Pride @ Binks Yard on the 27th July with Gok Wan, H from Steps and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’s Tomara Thomas.
Shablam! on Sundays is open to audiences 16+ and fully accessible for wheelchair users to ensure that everyone is included in the fun. Tickets cost from just £20 to £50 for the VIP meet and greet and are available to buy from:

LGBT+ Family Sharing Session for LGBT+ people who have been pregnant, given birth or been bereaved, as well as those who have supported them (online)
This online sharing session for is for all LGBT+ people who have been pregnant, given birth, or been bereaved in this process, as well as those who have supported them throughout, be it partners, friends or family. This also includes surrogates, donors and those who have experiences of adopting and fostering babies and toddlers.
Family Group : Crafting
Our groups are an informal and safe space for LGBT+ family of any shape, size and make up. At each family session, we simply connect over coffee, cake and conversation. There are also optional activities for you to get involved in related to the theme of the month. This month, the theme is Crafting! With the Rainbow Walk happening after our session, you can expect making of accessories, crafting grounding objects, as well as mapping your own rainbow walk!
Rainbow Walk
The Rainbow Walk is an annual event - a sponsored walk to raise funds for Derby Pride CIO and Derbyshire LGBT+. As well as raising much-needed funds for both charities, our annual walk is a fun afternoon out and a lovely walk.
The walk starts at the Derbyshire LGBT+ Centre on Curzon Street and then heads to Markeaton Park. The walk finishes at the Crown Inn on Curzon Street. After the walk, there will be a complimentary barbecue at The Crown Inn, Curzon Street, for all registered walkers. The walk is suitable for all ages and the route is wheelchair accessible.

Drop-in for Neurodivergent & SEND LGBT+ Families
We’re hosting a free drop-in for Neurodivergent & SEND LGBT+ Families with the lovely Maryam at Neurohub! It is a space for parents, carers or relatives of those neurodivergent/SEND (diagnosed or undiagnosed!) aged 0-25 to chat, offload, seek advice and find out about support available to you and your LGBT+ family (whether you are, or the young person is LGBT+).

Silent Reading Event - IWD
Join us on Wednesday 27th March in Derby at 6.30pm for our first ever Silent Reading Event! To mark International Women's Day the theme for this evening will be Queer Female Authors. Bring along a book that you're reading (queer female author preferable but anything you're reading is ok too! ) or borrow one from us! We want to create a safe space for people to unwind from the business of life, whilst having the opportunity to connect with other queer people in the community. We'll have half an hour at the start to chat, then an hour of silent reading, then half an hour or so at the end to discuss what we've been reading and get to know each other Email our Women's Worker Char if you'd like any more info.

Family Group : Book Day
Our groups are an informal and safe space for LGBT+ family of any shape, size and make up.
Maybe you’re new to the area and want to meet other LGBT+ families? Perhaps you are an LGBT+ parent and want to connect with others on the same journey? Maybe your sibling is LGBT+ and you want to learn more about how to support them? You could be considering fostering or adoption? Any members of any LGBT+ family are welcome to join the group session.
At each family session, we simply connect over coffee, cake and conversation. There are also optional activities for you to get involved in related to the theme of the month. This month, the theme is Book Day! You can expect den building for cosy reading and listening, storybuilding activities as well as a reading circle. Why not bring your favourite LGBT+ book along?
The groups are lead by qualified, experienced LGBT+ staff that are DBS checked, with active safeguarding procedures to protect attendees. You can meet our Families Worker who is hosting the session on our team page here.
