Gabrielle Britton

Gabrielle Britton is queer scientist interested in healthy and pathological aging.

She has lived and studied in the U.S. for over 20 years and returned to her home country, Panama, in 2006. She is the head of the Center for Neuroscience of INDICASAT AIP, a biomedical research institute focused on basic and clinical research of human diseases as well as biodiversity research. Their clinical aging program is the Panama Aging Research Initiative (PARI), a multidisciplnary research consortium at INDICASAT. PARI has interviewed and learned from over 700 aged adults since 2011 through an ongoing prospective cohort study focused on biomarkers of cognitive function for the early detection of dementia. She is a self-proclaimed, proud STEMinist, feminist and LGBTi activist, and works hard to attract all underrepresented minorities to science.
